Frage von -Sandy+: What was your experience living in Berlin when the Berlin Wall was built 1961-1989?

Hi there, I am a high school student in New Zealand and I am doing a history research assignment about the Berlin Wall and its impact on the people living in West/East Berlin.

Some questions I have are- how did your daily life change because of the wall? (What was it like living in East or West Germany?); did you ever think about escaping across the wall? etc

I would really appreciate any stories of your experience if you lived in Berlin between 1961-1989!!

Konnte nicht reisen oder auswandern Längerer in die Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Viele Familien waren aufgeteilt, während Ost-Berliner in den Westen eingesetzt wurden von ihren Arbeitsplätzen abgeschnitten. Wurde eine isolierte Enklave West-Berlin in einem feindlichen Land.
